Sometimes you may find that you connect your AC adapter to
your laptop then you observe that the laptop indicates that the AC cord is
plugged in but the battery is not charging, I have experienced this problem
myself and when I moved the cursor to the battery icon a massage displayed telling
me no battery was detected, in my case the battery icon indicated a small cross
at its bottom part….
This may be a hardware problem where repair will be
required, possible hardware causes of this problem might be
- · The laptops battery might be damaged
- · The AC adapter might not be working properly
- · The charging component on the motherboard
But what if this is a software problem that can be solved
with some few clicks, this might save you both time and the cost. To me this
problem was a software one and I solved it with only few clicks, when you faces
the same problem with your laptop or a friend’s laptop this is how you should
solve it...
- · Disconnect power from the computer and shutdown the system
- · After shutting down the system remove the battery from your computer
- · Plug back the AC adapter and power on the computer without the battery
- · After the computer is into the desktop right click my computer select properties then launch device manager
- · Expand the battery icon then select Microsoft ACPI Compliant Method Battery right click it then uninstall then close device manager and restart your computer
- · After shutdown disconnect the AC adapter plug in the battery connect AC cord then start the system
- · On the desktop navigate back to device manager > action select scan for hardware changes then wait for the system to detect the battery and install the drivers
If the problem was associated with software issues this
would help you fix it
