Partitioning a hard drive without formating it

It is well known that partitioning a hard drive is obviously done during the installation of an operating system where you have to go through formatting the hard drive, You don't have to go through such experience anymore here I'm going to show you another way of partitioning your hard drive without formatting it.

Now you wont have to go through the process of backing up your data before formatting the hard drive so as to secure your data, instead all you have to do is follow the following simple steps.

1.Click the start button then write click my computer, from the drop down menu select manage the window below will display on your screen

2.Expand storage then double click disk management to display all drives present on the system at the moment

3.Right click the drive of your choice then select shrink volume.Your computer will calculate the maximum amount of shrinkable volume then a window will appear allowing you to specify the amount of volume you want to shrink then click shrink.
Note:the amount you enter must be between the limited amount displayed

Creating new volume
Right click on the unallocated volume and select a new simple volume. A small window will pop up fill the required values same way as you did in the previous stages
The new volume must be assigned a letter and the format
By following previous steps you would have been able to create another partition on your hard drive.
